- Basic description of duties: Major Responsibilities
1. Ensure Ops Desk staffed 0730 to 1600L during RP 30 posture time frames (or as otherwise directed during flying operations).
2. Ensure tasks assigned to Desk Staff is recorded and follow-up is completed.
3. Monitor all incoming phone calls and email to +442 Desk account; action as required.
4. Publish the aircrew schedule daily; prepare and send the daily Standby List to appropriate units/members; assist with coordinating aircrew replacements as necessary.
5. Act as POC between Sqn Ops, Kingfisher Servicing, 418 Sqn and IMP as well as for all Sqn activities.
6. Supervise OJT desk staff and ensure training package is completed.
7. Any other duties as assigned by the S Ops O, Deputy S Ops O and Duty Ops O.
Technical / Personnel Administration Requirements
1. Prepare and present the daily Sqn Morning Briefing(s).
2. Prepare and maintain trip/mission folders and crew lists via Hangar App.
3. Ensure all cancelled flying activities are entered into the flight stats and the AC has completed the appropriate trip cancellation via Hangar App.
4. Prepare the Daily Night Flying program and next day K1017s for authorization by FAO via Hangar App.
5. Co-ordinate, maintain, and update the Military Flying Activity (MFLY) sheet based on input from the Sqn and OTF and publish for all concerned; ensure Duty Ops O is advised via Google Sheets.
6. Monitor and reconcile as required the K1017 data entered into the MFLY, Stats and SO SAR website daily to ensure flight hours match. If discrepancies are noted, determine where they are and adjust as required.
7. Advise Duty Ops O of all significant changes, events, and activities.
8. Monitor and maintain Ops area cleanliness, dispose of the recycling at the end of each day.
9. Ensure meals requests are processed each Wednesday for the following week.
10. Monitor and order office supplies (printer and copies toner, paper, etc.) through Sqn supply.
11. Enter, monitor and update as required the Night Flying program details for each Night flight as the info becomes available in the Google Sheets Ops Planner.
12. Enter, monitor and update as required the Boat Booking details for each Boat request as the info becomes available in the Boat Booking Checklist.
13. Coordination of aircraft and crew requirements as necessary.
