Secondary requirements of position, as applic: THE DIRECTOR JOINT CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT LEADS THE CJOC JOINT CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORATE AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, PRIORITIZATION AND PRODUCTION OF JOINT FORCE INPUT INTO THE LARGER CAF FORCE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS LED BY THE CHIEF OF FORCE DEVELOPMENT (CFD) AND INFORMED BY CHIEF JOINT CAPABILITIES INTEGRATION (CJCI). TOGETHER WITH THE DIRECTORATE OF JOINT READINESS (DJR), JCD WILL PROMOTE A JOINT FORCE PERSPECTIVE AND WORK TO REALISE THE CJOC COMD'S JOINT FORCE READINESS AND CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS. THE KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DJCD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
    A. LEADING FORCE DEVELOPMENT REQUIRMENTS FOR CJOC THE DJCD IDENTIFIES DEFICIENCIES IN CURRENT EQUIPMENT, PROCESSES AND TRAINING AND DEVELOPS NEW REQUIREMENTS AND SOLUTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROJECT- AND PROGRAM-MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND BEST PRACTICES. THE DJCD LEADS THE CJOC CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT AND REFINEMENT OF CAF OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, SHAPES CAPITAL PROJECT DELIVERABLES AND TIMELINES, IDENTIFIES PERSONNEL GENERATION REQUIREMENTS, AND CONTRIBUTES TO TRAINING PLAN DEVELOPMENT FOR MILITARY OCCUPATION SPECIFICATIONS HAVING JOINT IMPLICATIONS; AND
    B. SUPPORTING DG RDNS AS THE CJOC L1 LEAD AND REPRESENTATIVE TO L0 EXECUTIVE-LEVEL COMMITTEES FORFORCE DEVELOPMENT (FD), FORCE PLANNING, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN, REQUIREMENTSIDENTIFICATION AND PRIORITIZATION, DOCTRINE, AND LESSONS LEARNE

  4. Basic description of duties: THE DJCD PERFORMS THE FOLLOWING KEY TASKS:
    A. REVIEWS STRATEGIC DOCUMENTS SUCH AS STRONG, SECURE, ENGAGED (SSE) TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL JOINT FORCE CAPABILITY GAPS;
    B. REVIEWS THE FORCE CAPABILITY PLAN TO IDENTIFY JOINT CAPABILITIES THAT NEED TO BE INFLUENCED BY CJOC AND JOINT FORCE REQUIREMENTS;
    C. INFORMS CFD-LED CONCEPT DRIVEN THREAT INFORMED PLANNING (CDTIP) AND FUTURE STRUCTURE PLANNING (FSP) ACTIVITIES;
    D. INFORMS AND CONTRIBUTES TO OPERATIONALIZATION OF PAN-DOMAIN COMMAND AND CONTROL
    E. PERFORMS OVERSIGHT OF ALL CJOC FD AND CAPABILITY INTEGRATION ACTIVITIES;
    F. CHAIRS THE CJOC JOINT CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT WORKING GROUP (JCDWG) AND SERVES AS OPI OF THE JOINT CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT STEERING COMMITTEE (JCDSC), CHAIRED BY DG RDNS;
    G. REVIEWS LEVEL 2 AND TASK FORCE COMD FEEDBACK, LESSONS-LEARNED AND POST-OPERATION/-EXERCISE REPORTS, AND URGENT OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS TO IDENTIFY CAPABILITY DEFICIENCIES AND DEVELOP CJOC STATEMENTS OF CAPABILITY DEFICIENCY (SOCD) AND STATEMENTS OF REQUIREMENT (SOR) IN CONSEQUENCE;
    H. MANAGES AND TRACKS CJOC SOCDS FROM ORIGINATION TO DISPOSITION OR CLOSURE; I. MAY DIRECT, COORDINATE, AND INTEGRATE CJOC'S CAPITAL PROJECTS; J. PROVIDES STAFF-LEVEL REPRESENTATION TO THE MANAGEMENT TEAMS OF MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR WHICH CJOC HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A STAKEHOLDER; K. CONTRIBUTES TO DEVELOPMENT OF JOINT FORCE EMPLOYMENT CONCEPTS; AND L. REPRESENTS CJOC AT CAF FORCE DEVELOPMENT GOVERNANCE MEETINGS AND FORA. THE DJCD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING KEY OUTCOMES AND PRODUCTS: A. PRODUCING PRIORITIZED LISTS OF JOINT REQUIREMENTS AS WELL AS INVESTMENT AND DIVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT THE COMMAND BUSINESS-PLANNING CYCLE; B. ENSURING CJOC AND JOINT-FORCE INPUT INTO THE DIRECTION AND MANAGEMENT OF PROJECTS ACROSS THE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE LEVEL 1 FORCE AND CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT STAFF NETWORK AND GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK; AND C. MAINTAINING A CJOC MASTER LIST OF JOINT CAPABILITY GAPS AND DEFICIENCIES FOR TRACKING PROGRESS AGAINST THE GAPS. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: AS A MEMBER OF THE CJOC HQ STAFF SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM, THE DJCD WILL PARTICIPATE IN DELIBERATE AND CONTINGENCY PLANNING ACTIVITIES AS NEEDED
