- Basic description of duties: The FCoE JCR Engagements is responsible to the FCoE of the Canadian Ranger Group (CR Gp). They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting community level engagements in support of the JCR program, ensuring alignment with Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group (CJCR Gp) and CR Gp priorities and strategic objectives. The position requires expertise in managing relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the strategic implications and second- and third-order impacts of decisions. By fostering collaboration and building trusted partnerships, the Community Engagements position strengthens the Formation's capacity for impactful engagement, organizational development, and strategic impact. This position is not a duplication of responsibilities held by other CR Gp HQ staff, but rather a complementary role that ensures the JCR program is well supported with required resources.
- Lead and coordinate community engagement initiatives to ensure alignment with the CJCR Gp and CR Gp priorities and program objectives;
- Act as the primary liaison between internal departments, external stakeholders, and JCR communities fostering collaboration and effective communication;
- Provide strategic advice and actionable recommendations to senior leadership on engagement activities and initiatives;
- Assess strategic implications and cascading impacts of decisions, identifying risks and opportunities;
- Prepare high-quality briefing materials, presentations, and reports for Commander-level and executive leadership;
- Monitor progress and report on outcomes of assigned projects, ensuring objectives are achieved within established timelines;
- Collaborate with Public Affairs to develop content for external communications and respond to stakeholder requests;
- Provide synchronized updates to leadership, ensuring engagement activities remain aligned with program priorities and operational needs;
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate senior leadership engagements within JCR communities as required;
- Coordinate logistics for engagement events, meetings, and conferences involving senior leadership and external stakeholders; and
- Maintain accurate records of engagement activities, agreements, and stakeholder interactions for audit and reporting purposes.

B. As per ref B, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval.
