NATL CJCR Sp Gp HQ has a Class B Permanent for a Capt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 00232-13-CIC, or 00360-01-COATS-GS OFF to commence on 01-AUG-2026 until 31-JUL-2029.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Primary Reserve Force, Canadian Rangers, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

  4. Basic description of duties: The G3 JCR Trg Coord is responsible to the G3 of the Canadian Ranger Group (CR Gp); they are responsible for coordinating Ranger Instructors and their efforts in supporting local JCR patrols. This role will oversee compliance with training requirements to ensure instructors meet all standards for working with youth, while liaising with CJCR Gp to maintain alignment with program objectives. The position will further support Canadian Ranger Patrol Groups (CRPGs) by providing national level support to training activities. This position is not a duplication of responsibilities held by other CR Gp HQ staff, but rather a omplementary role that ensures JCR staff are prepared and supported to execute their role as leaders. - Lead subordinates and provide professional and positive mentorship; - Coordinate and collaborate with CRPG training officers and CJCR Gp J3/J7 staff to remain abreast of emergent training priorities, policies and opportunities; - Act as the centralized coordination node for Ranger Instructors to ensure compliant, efficient and consistent delivery of JCR support across communities; - Maintain situational awareness of individual training (IT) activities within both CJCR Gp and CR Gp, and leverage opportunities for JCR staff; - Participate in the preparation of plans for day-to-day operations, piecemeal orders, studies and other correspondence of the branch; - Propose realistic and creative solutions to complex problems; - Support JCR training activities by facilitating planning, resource and policy alignment, and coordination as needed; - Facilitate CRPG planning of national level JCR activities; - Support CFTPO management for JCR staff and activities; - Draft/oversee JCR waiver submissions that require higher approval; and - Update units on relevant JCR activities during the Ops & Trg Coord. - Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

  9. Remarks: A. This is a permanent Cl B position with a continued engagement for a three year period. B. As per ref B, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval. D.
