- Basic description of duties: The G1 JCR position is responsible to the Human Resources Manager of the Canadian Ranger Group. They manage attendance, pay, expenditures, and JCR-related claims for local patrols, including processing for Civilian Instructor hires. This position is not a duplication of responsibilities held by other CR Gp HQ staff, but rather a complementary role that ensures JCR administration remains timely, accurate and relevant.
- Enter JCR staff data in HRMS/Guardian, RPSR, CCPS and Monitor Mass;
- Maintain JCR associated pers files, complete annual stripping of pers files and archiving of unit files;
- Respond to telephone and email inquiries concerning the JCR program;
- Maintain and archive Central Registry files for the JCR program;
- Prepare JCR documentation for signature;
- Prepare JCR staff Class A/B documentation and enter data in HRMS/Guardian/RPSR;
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROE) using ROE Web;
- Prepare casualty administration;
- Report JCR administrative pay and benefit issues;
- Prepare unit administration including in/out routine, certificates, entitlements, compensation benefits, establishment
changes, annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, promotion, appointment, transfer, honours and awards and Military Personal Record Resume (MPRR);
- Prepare, review and verify release packages and all necessary paperwork for final processing, including Guardian release forms, Released Personnel Pay Office (RPPO) checklists and Release Transfer Notification Messages (RTNM) according to regulations;
- Complete documentation for members releasing or transferring;
- Ensure timely response to member queries; and
- Provide support to the OR HR Manager.

B. As per ref B, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval.
