A. Extensive experience in applying federal government and Defence National department (DND) policies such as Treasury Board (TB) policies, QR&Os, DAODs, CATOs and various directives and instructions;
B. Demonstrated experience using Office 365;

D. Experience with contracting and procurement processes and/or consulting with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC);

- Basic description of duties:
A. Incorporating safety into all aspects of the job, complying with all prescribed procedures and instructions concerning the health and safety of cadets, employees and members;
B. Function as Regional Technical authority for maintenance and management of all Regional Cadets Support Unit (RCSU) small boats and marine equipment;
C. Communicating with other sections regarding scheduling of activities and equipment;
D. Acts as Life Cycle Manager (LCMM) for all RCSU marine equipment under the guidance and direction of the CJCR Gp LCMM;
E. Consult with PSPC, RCSU, commercial suppliers, and applicable supporting base for quotations, work orders, purchasing and contracting relating to maritime maintenance and equipment;
F. Control all RCSU marine equipment and supplies. This includes identifying any discrepancies in assets held and ensuring they are reflected on applicable sea lines of communications (SLOCs) within the region;
G. Ensure all demands, write-offs, and returns & disposal of equipment on SLOC’s are completed in accordance with surface-to-air missible (SAM) procedures;
H. Monitoring and initiating maintenance requirements of the Boat Shed, jetty, floats, and waterfront if applicable;
I. Controlling all small craft activity and consistently monitoring safety concerns and consulting with applicable Supporting Base Maintenance Sections as required;
J. Co-ordinating and prioritizing boat repairs conducted by the supporting base or civilian contractors;
K. Maintain accurate maintenance records for all marine equipment ensuring boat maintenance and repair summaries are logged and maintained;
L. Provide a maintenance schedule to the regional J4 and CJCR Gp LCMM, annually: CJCR GP HQ TERMS OF REFERENCE ;
M. Leading and managing assigned officers, NCMs, staff cadets and civilian staff regarding work scheduling and duties, and maintaining applicable documentation as required for personnel evaluation requirements; and
N. Managing and utilizing all allocated resources of the Boats Section in the most efficient, effective, economical, and ethical manner.

D. This is a permanent Class B for 3 years position with possibility of extension up to 3 years in accordance with Ref D. The applicant will be a staff member of RCSU Eastern. Initially, he/she will occupy the position of J4 Boat maintenance, but can expect to be assigned other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
E. The member is responsible for contacting his/her home unit to request an Reserve Employment Offer (REO) appointment. The unit must ensure that the member has no outstanding administrative or disciplinary actions on file prior to appointment.
F. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This permanent position is advertised as an Option 1 or Option 2 reserve employment opportunity; however, preference will be given to properly qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a properly qualified COATS or primary reserve member, regular force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 contract basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. The annuitant's periods of employment shall not exceed three years in the position to which the position is to be posted for competition through the REO.
