- Basic description of duties: The position exists to support the 17 WComd in the conduct of long-term planning of 17 Wing activities, primarily the creation and updating of the 17 Wing Operations Plan (OPLAN).
General responsibilities: The 17 Wing A5 Plans Officer assist with oversight and coordination of long-term planning of tactical level plans as well as directives on behalf of the 17 WComd.
Responsible for:
Primary Duties/Tasks:
1. Plan/Directive Preparation:
-Support 17 Wing OPLAN and other Wing-level orders requiring collective estimates.
2. Technical Expertise Development:
-Maintain and develop planning technical expertise.
3. OPLAN Development:
-Assist with the development of the 17 Wing OPLAN and associated briefs to the 17 WComd
4. Expert Advice:
-Provide expert advice based on training and experience.
5. Policy and Strategy Awareness:
-Stay current with Defence Policy, RCAF Strategy, RCAF Campaign Plan, Comd 2 CAD FG Directive and Guidance and other relevant HHQ directives.

-Operate and care for DND computer and peripherals.
