- Basic description of duties: JOC DEPUTY J33 IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO J33 FOR:
A. MANAGING AND MONITORING ALL JOC ADMINISTRATION AND MAKING IMPROVEMENTS WHERE NECESSARY;
B. ADVISING J33 OF ANY JOC ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUES;

THE SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR INCLUDES:
A. IN THE ABSENCE OF DIRECTOR JOC, PROVIDING LEADERSHIP TO JOC;
B. MANAGE THE JOC SHIFT-WORKING SCHEDULE;
C. REVIEW JOC LEAVE PASSES PRIOR TO DIRECTOR JOC SIGNATURE;
D. MONITOR JOC "END OF YEAR" LEAVE AND MAKE SURE IT IS IN LINE WITH THE COC INTENT;
E. ORGANIZE THE ANNUAL CHIEF OF OPERATIONS (CHOPS) MEETING AROUND OCTOBER/NOVEMBER;
F. LEAD PACE AND PAR SEASON (FEEDBACK NOTES, QUARTERLY REVIEWS, TIMELINE, ETC). ORGANIZE CHOPS MEETING DURING PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL REVIEW (PAR) SEASON FOR INTERNAL DIRECTION TO WRITE JOC PARS;
G. FOR THE OFFICERS, COMMUNICATE WITH CJOC ADVISORS AND CAREER MANAGERS TO FACILITATE POSTING SEASON AND SECURITY CLEARANCES;
H. FOR THE NCOS, SUPPORT JOC CHIEF FOR THE SAME DUTY AS POINT "G".
I. COMMUNICATE WITH CJOC DCOS WITH REGARDS TO PERSONNEL, FILLING ANY GAPS AND MAKING SURE JOC REMAINS FULLY STAFFED. DEVELOP COAS FOR LEADERSHIP AND THE IMPACT AND RISK ASSESSMENT FOR EACH;
J. WORK WITH CJOC COMCO AND USS TO FACILITATE AND EXPEDITE SECURITY CLEARANCES FOR INCOMING PERSONNEL;
K. CONDUCT DAILY REVIEW OF JOC PRODUCTS ALTERNATING WITH OPSO TO ENSURE QUALITY CONTROL AND CONSISTENCY OF INFORMATION;
L. FILL IN AS CHOPS POSITION TO SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS OF THE WATCH SUCH AS COVERING STANDBY DAYS OR PERSONNEL SHORTAGES;
M. RESPONSIBLE TO DIRECTOR JOC FOR MONITORING ALL JOC SOPS AND TERMS OF REFERENCES ENSURING THEY ARE UPDATED BY RELEVANT OPIS;
N. REVIEW JOC ADMINISTRATION;
O. SECONDARY DUTY: IN THE ABSENCE OF JOC COORD, MANAGE DDA FILES AND PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION; AND
P. OTHER DUTIES, AS REQUIRED BY DIRECTOR JOC.
