Respiratory Protection Programs, fit testing procedures, and CAF respiratory safety policies. b. Air compressor breathing air sampling procedures and regulatory requirements. c. Training development and delivery, including Portable Fire Extinguisher Training (PFET). d. CAF policies and publications including IFSTA manuals, DAODs, CFAOs, QR&Os and local SOGs. e. Canadian safety and fire codes including National Fire Code, Building Code, Labour Code, Electrical Code and Propane regulations. f. Fire prevention inspections, fire protection systems maintenance, and fire equipment maintenance.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Respiratory Protection Program Coordinator position exists to coordinate and administer the Respiratory Protection Program at 17 Wing Winnipeg. The incumbent ensures compliance with CAF policies and safety regulations related to respiratory protection, conducts respirator fit testing, and provides training and program oversight across all Wing units requiring respiratory protection. The RPP Coordinator works closely unit Points of Contact (POCs), and Fire Services personnel to ensure all sections comply with the Respiratory Protection Program requirements. This is a non-supervisory position in which the incumbent is responsible for: a. Working independently to perform the following tasks: -Administer and coordinate the Wing Respiratory Protection Program. -Conduct respirator fit testing for personnel requiring respiratory protection. -Conduct breathing air sampling for air compressors used to supply breathing air. -Maintain program records, documentation, and compliance reporting. -Coordinate with unit Points of Contact to ensure all sections comply with respiratory protection requirements. -Provide training and guidance to building Fire Wardens across the Wing. -Deliver Portable Fire Extinguisher Training (PFET) to Wing personnel. -Monitor compliance with respiratory protection standards and policies. -Liaise with base units and safety representatives regarding respiratory protection requirements. -Maintain program equipment and ensure proper calibration and serviceability. b. Assisting other members to complete jobs and tasks including: -Supporting Fire Prevention activities and inspections when required. -Supporting Fire Services operations when required due to operational staffing needs. -Acting as Crew Chief in the absence of the designated supervisor when required. c. Additional responsibilities include: -Performing daily physical fitness training in accordance with CAF Physical Fitness Maintenance Program. -Maintaining Emergency Medical Responder proficiency and casualty handling skills. -Applying firefighting strategies and tactics when assigned operational duties. -Performing fire protection systems maintenance and facility inspections as required. -Performing fire equipment maintenance. -Carrying out other duties as directed by the Sector Commander or Fire Chief. The RPP Coordinator is directly accountable to the Fire Chief who is the RPPA for the administration, coordination, and compliance of the Wing Respiratory Protection Program.
