THE POSITION PROVIDES SENIOR OPERATIONAL SAR EXPERTISE TO THE CJOC COC AND NATIONAL LEVEL PARTNERS. THE DEPUTY SAR ADVISOR WORKS DIRECTLY FOR THE CJOC SAR ADVISOR AND SUPPORTS THE COORDINATION, OVERSIGHT, AND ANALYSIS OF CAF SAR OPERATIONS AND REPRESENTS CJOC SAR INTERESTS ACROSS NATIONAL SAR GOVERNANCE BODIES. THE ROLE REQUIRES CLOSE COLLABORATION WITH SJS, RCAF (1 CAD, SSO SAR, SAR SQUADRONS), JRCC/CMCC OICS, AND MULTIPLE OGDS INCLUDING THE CCG AND PS/NSS.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
A. PROVIDE EXPERT OPERATIONAL ADVICE TO THE CJOC COC ON SAR MATTERS, ANTICIPATED RISKS, AND EMERGING ISSUES
B. ASSESS AND ARTICULATE FORCE GENERATION / FORCE EMPLOYMENT FRICTION POINTS, FACILITATING COORDINATION BETWEEN TACTICAL AND OPERATIONAL LEVELS
C. ACT AS A CJOC SAR REPRESENTATIVE OR SUPPORT THE COORDINATION AND CONDUCT OF NATIONAL SAR GOVERNANCE MEETINGS, INCLUDING:
1. COORDINATORS JOINT WORKING GROUP (CJWG)
2. OIC/RSMS MEETINGS
3. FEDERAL SAR OPERATIONS GOVERNANCE SUB COMMITTEE (FSAROG SC)
4. FEDERAL SAR OPERATIONS GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE (FSAROGC)
D. COORDINATE CAMSAR POLICY UPDATES AND CONTRIBUTE TO NATIONAL SAR DOCTRINE DEVELOPMENT
E. DRAFT OR REVIEW SAR RELATED OPERATIONAL DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING BNS, DIRECTIVES, AGREEMENTS, OPERATIONAL ANALYSES, AND GOVERNANCE MATERIAL
F. COORDINATE WITH STAKEHOLDERS AND PROJECT MANAGERS ON NATIONAL SAR INITIATIVES, TRACKING PROGRESS AND ENSURING OPERATIONAL ALIGNMENT
G. CONDUCT OPERATIONAL ANALYSIS OF SARMIS REPORTS, IDENTIFYING TRENDS AND DEVELOPING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NATIONAL REPORTING
H. DRAFT AND STAFF RECORDS OF DISCUSSION AND KEY NATIONAL REPORTS SUPPORTING FSAROGC AND RELATED COMMITTEES

A. CONTRIBUTE TO CJOC SAR BUSINESS PLANNING, RESOURCE ALIGNMENT, AND CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT
B. SERVE AS A LICENSED SARMIS "CREATOR" USER, SUPPORTING THE NATIONAL SAR MISSION REPORTING AND ANALYSIS SYSTEM
C.PERFORM OTHER OPERATIONAL TASKS AS DIRECTED BY THE CJOC SAR ADVISOR
