L. The work environment includes field and garrison, as well as working in other geographic areas for limited periods. Training plans require Training Centre personnel to conduct occasional overnight duty in both field and garrison environments as well as occasional evening and weekend duties. During the conduct of courses, will lead or participate in PT, generally beginning at 0500 hrs. Between courses, the general work schedule will be 0800 - 1600 hrs; and,
M. All qualifications, certifications, and training required for this position must be completed or updated for currency within 60 days of hiring. Lack of current and valid qualifications/training will result in employment termination. Qualifications and/or certifications: MJUL, PaCE modules 1-3.
- Basic description of duties:
A. Support the Course Officer in planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of training in accordance with Qualification Standards (QS), Training Plans (TP), orders, and directives;
B. Act as the senior NCO advisor to the Course Officer, providing expert guidance on training delivery, discipline, and soldier development;
C. As the course senior instructor, assess, monitor, and mentor all instruction, ensuring compliance with the QS, TP, doctrine, policy, and safety regulations;
D. Supervise and mentor instructors, candidates, and support staff during field, garrison, and distance learning activities;
E. Deliver instruction, conduct student assessments, and produce XXXX for training in garrison, field, and distance learning as required;
F. Execute and coordinate the course administration plan including student travel, student RSOM, issue of kit and equipment, course transport, resupply, vehicle maintenance, and serialized equipment control;
G. Manage day-to-day administration, discipline, and welfare of staff and course personnel, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and professionally;
H. Conduct inspections and enforce high standards of dress, deportment, and discipline among candidates and staff;
I. Assist in the development of course scheduling and resource coordination, including acquiring facilities, equipment, and instructional support, to ensure effective training delivery;
J. Monitor candidate performance, provide feedback, and maintain accurate documentation in support of course reporting requirements;
K. Ensure compliance with CAF doctrine, safety regulations, and risk management protocols during all training activities;
L. Act as the primary point of contact for NCO-level instructional and operational matters, escalating issues to the Course Officer as required;
M. Prepare and contribute to after-action reviews, course reports, and recommendations for improvement;
N. Assume the duties of the Course Officer when delegated or in their absence;
O. Support or lead other unit training and activities as required;
P. Execute secondary duties as required; and,
Q. Execute other tasks as directed by the Course Officer or chain of command.
