- Basic description of duties: General: Dedicated to Military Field Skills related to the establishment of the Combat Medic / Paramedic Occupation and the requirement to create training documentation to complement medical training material in support of Military Medical Field Skills directly related to medics ability to shoot, move, communicate, and survive in order to deliver lifesaving and life-sustaining care on the modern battlefield.
Specific :
This position assists the SSO Clinical Capability in the delivery of the Medical Field Skills Training, supporting the Staff Officer Medical Field Skills as the principle focus to develop, maintain, resource, schedule and implement Military Field Skills as part of the formed Individual Training, Education and Professional Development of the Combat Medic Occupation
Tasks would include
1. Responsible For: - Development of a depository on knowledge database for advanced training, including management of MLP's.
2. Instruct in accordance with the method of instruction outlined by the Director Individual Training and Education and participate in modernization of instruction.
3. Through effective instruction and coaching, ensure that students understand and can apply tactical level doctrine at the individual and section level.
4. Remain current with MOS specific doctrine, TTPs and lessons learned in order to provide expert tactical and technical advice to students and other members of the unit.
5. Foster professional liaison with external agencies (Field Force), to remain current and actively engaged with what they are doing
6. Plan for administrative support requirements for Advanced Training Courses
7. Contribute to Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) review and lessons learned process
8. Contribute to business planning processes to fund forecasted IT&E requirements.

b. Position requires Alternate Instructional Techniques (AIMU), Instructional Supervisor (AHCJ), Qualification Standard Manager (AKLW), and Training Plan Manager (AKLX). Should the successful applicant not hold these qualifications, they must meet the suitability and training prerequisites for the required training and be able to achieve the qualification within a reasonable period agreed upon by the employing authority.
c. Statement on the Engagement of CFSA Part I Annuitants:
The Management Framework issued at VCDS 5323-1 (DGRC) 6 March 2012, which remains in
force at this time, affords that annuitants in receipt of pension benefits under the CFSA Part I
who endeavor to undertake a period of Reserve Force service in fulfillment of a requirement
anticipated to last longer than one year shall rejoin and recontribute to the CFSA Part I under the
terms of "Option 2" at para 2.13 of CMP instr 20/04. This is the guiding principle on which an
AFC decision was based and promulgated by the CDS at 5323-1 (D Res) 5 Mar 2012.
Notwithstanding this guiding principle, certain circumstances may exist where an application
may be made to VCDS requesting an exception which would permit engagement of a CFSA Part
I annuitant under the terms of "Option 1" (maximum 330 days in any 365 day period).
CFSA Part I annuitants wishing to apply for this position with an expectation of being approved
for service under the terms of "Option 1" as detailed in Para 2.13 of CMP instr 20/04 will only
be considered:
· in cases where the position is currently vacant;
· in the absence of currently serving Reserve Force members not in receipt of benefits
under CFSA Part I who apply;
· in the absence of currently s
