- Secondary requirements of position, as applic: Experience with modern learning technologies to enable RCAF learners; Familiarity with instructional design concepts and web applications; Experience with application design and creating a positive user experience; Experience with MITE and other pers records database systems operation, such as Monitor Mass; Experience with ATRIMS web applications: Training Catalog and Calendar, STRATUS and DP1MS; Experience with Microsoft D365 suite, specifically Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint Lists; Strong communication skills and experience liaising with key stakeholders.
- Basic description of duties: SO Training Systems 3 is responsible to ensure that the RCAF has innovative and interesting learning options for the Training Establishments and the RCAF students. SO Training Systems 3 will learn to help our Training Establishments to improve the support to the student, whether a technological innovation or experiential based research. SO Training Systems 3 will also support the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the primary database driven tools used in AF training quantity control and business planning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. RCAF IT&E National Calendar:
(1) Operation and Administration of the RCAF IT&E National Calendar:
(i) Draft, build, and maintain the RCAF IT&E National Calendar;
(ii) Daily Management of national calendar, track and respond to change request entries;
(iii) With MITE data, monitor course loading of RCAF pers on all training; and
(iv) Capture new training requirements as they arise.
(2) Forecasting, Analysis, and Management of the RCAF IT&E National Planning Calendar:
(i) Review QS documents when published for course code changes;
(ii) Provide bi-annual updates to the Training Productions Requirement (TPR); and
(iii) Liaise with RCAF units, FMOST Officer and outside CAF agencies to determine RCAF training requirements.
(3) Coordinate with School Managers and assist with coordination and rectification of issues, such as student position allocation issues.
b. Business Analysis:
(1) Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
(i) Engage with Qualification Mangers to understand business needs, goals, and challenges;
(ii) Create, review, and modify quarterly-Training Stream Diagrams, and Quantity Control Business process maps; and
(iii) Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for updates to Quantity Control web applications, dashboards, and reports.
c. ATRIMS Support:
(1) User Account Management:
(i) Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts for web-based applications in accordance with organizational policies;
(ii) Authorize access levels based on role-based permissions and operational requirements; and
(iii) Conduct periodic audits of user accounts to ensure compliance with access control standards.
(2) Documentation and User Support:
(i) Update and maintain user guides, access procedures, and onboarding documentation to reflect current practices;
(ii) Ensure documentation is clear, accessible, and aligned with organizational standards;
(iii) Provide guidance to users on account setup, access issues, and application usage; and
(iv) Facilitate training, workshops, and presentations regarding ATRIMS and its web applications.
(3) Support testing, validation, and deployment solutions.
d. Other duties as assigned.
