      The incumbent will have previous experience as a unit commander and staff officer or adjutant experience at the formation level. The incumbent will demonstrate skills and work experience including strong written and oral communications skills, planning and organizational skills, familiarity with financial and policy tools and applications related to travel (i.e. ClaimsX). Experience working with senior officers at an international level and knowledge of NATO and allied organizations and policies are considered to be assets

Basic description of duties: Section Head, International Reserve Engagement (SHIRE) is a member of the Directorate of Reserve Force Knowledge Management (DRFKM) in the Office of Chief of Reserves (C Res). The SHIRE is responsible to Director DRFKM for the implementation of international reserve engagement activities and knowledge collection and management. The SHIRE is responsive to the DG and C Res for day-to-day support of their activities and act as point of contact as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: A) Lead the coordination of meetings and engagement activities with Reserve Forces and organizations of NATO and international allies and partners; B) Supervise the Staff Officer IRE for the completion of pre- and post-travel administration for international reserve engagement activities, including C Res permissions, visitor clearances and follow-up correspondence; C) Work with DG to support C Res activities related to the NATO Committee on Reserves (NCR), including attendance at NCR meetings as required; D) Work with the Section Heads to support the planning and organization of the directorate’s engagement activities and events; E) If required, serve as Canada Vice President (VP) to the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers (CIOR), representing CAF Reserve equities in their role as CIOR Canada Vice-President and Head of Delegation; F) Support data gathering, analysis and dissemination; and G) Any other duties and tasks by the Director Reserve Force Knowledge Management (DRFKM)
