- Basic description of duties: The Company Training Officer is responsible to plan, coordinate and conduct assigned IT&E activities.
- Conduct assigned IT&E activities;
- Liaise with assigned Training Coordinator(s) for operational support within Area of Responsibility (AOR);
- Confirm course readiness and coordinate resource and facility requirements with support sections;
- Coordinate communications with course staff and students throughout assigned IT&E activities;
- Act as the point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned training courses;
- Monitor student and staff performance, safety, conduct, and incidents during IT&E activities and escalate issues when required;
- Coach and guide instructors and support staff;
- Provide input to revisions of IT&E documents;
- Coordinate after-action reporting and resolution for assigned IT&E activities;
- Complete course close-out actions and ensure administrative documentation is finalized for assigned IT&E activities;
- Liaise with assigned Standards Officer for standards related matters within AOR;
- Maintain situational awareness of all courses and activities assigned to the Training section;
- Contribute to Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) review and lessons learned process with assigned Standards Officers; and
- Contribute to business planning processes to fund forecasted IT&E requirements.

B. Position is geo located in Ottawa, ON. An alternate work arrangement may be considered in the event there are no qualified applicants in Ottawa. In that case, a qualified candidate can perform the work from a DND facility such as an RCSU or area office in the following locations: Shearwater, NS; Gagetown, NB; Valcartier, QC; St-Jean, QC; Ottawa, ON; Borden, ON; Winnipeg, MB, Edmonton, AB; or Victoria, BC. C. As per ref B, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. D. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval.
E. Applicants must provide an application package describing specifically how the applicant satisfies each of the required experience and qualifications and secondary requirements.
