  1. NATL CJCR Sp Gp HQ has a Class B Permanent for a WO/WO MOS ID/Occupation 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 90000-ATR to commence on 16-JAN-2026 until 15-JAN-2029.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Canadian Rangers, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

      In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered for the position with the condition that the member completes a component transfer to COATS. Limited options for a member to remain in the Primary Reserve Force may be possible.

  4. Basic description of duties: The Junior Canadian Ranger (JCR) Instructor is responsible for enabling the planning and delivery of the JCR Program. Working collaboratively with Canadian Rangers (CR) in community, the aim of the JCR Program is to provide a structured youth program that promotes traditional cultures and lifestyles in remote and isolated communities of Canada where Canadian Ranger Patrols operate. - Conduct frequent community level visits across the CRPG Area of Operations (up to 20 trips annually); - Be prepared to operate and live in austere conditions overnight during patrol exercises and activities; - Liaise with community stakeholders (e.g., adult committee members); - Coordinate staffing and logistical support for patrol exercises and activities; - Assist in the planning and conduct of enhanced training sessions; and - Coordinate administrative and financial accounting related to patrol exercises and activities

  9. Remarks: A. This is a permanent Cl B position with a continued engagement for a three year period. B. As per ref B, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. Applicants must submit their supporting documents to the REO OPI no later than 2359hrs in their own time zone on the closing date C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval. D.
