- NATL CJCR Sp Gp HQ has a Class B Permanent for a Lt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 00232-13-CIC, or 00360-01-COATS-GS OFF to commence on 16-JAN-2026 until 15-JAN-2029.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Canadian Rangers, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

- Basic description of duties: JCR Company 2IC is responsible to the applicable CRPG JCR Coy O
C. The JCR Coy 2IC is responsible to support the JCR patrols within their Area of Responsibility by providing training guidance, assistance, and equipment to JCR Patrols as required.
- The coordination, conduct and supervision of JCR mandated, enhanced and other training or events;
- The coordination, conduct and supervision of all administration and financial management in support of the applicable CRPG JCR Program;
- Communicate with diverse groups of people including civilian agencies, local and provincial governments, youth, and parents;
- Participate in professional development training as directed, to include continuation of leadership and advanced trg necessary for career advancement;
- Provide leadership and guidance to all CRPG HQ staff in support of the JCR Programme;
- Act as Officer in Charge or Second in Command of company and patrol level CR/JCR field deployments over land or sea while travelling by either all-terrain vehicle, light over snow vehicle, boat or by foot;
- Assist in the confirmation of CR and JCR training through patrol visits;
- Attend Area and National conferences/working groups;
- Provide direct control over all assigned JCR stores through respective patrols and designated staff;
- Act as the OC JCR Coy as tasked;
- Lead planner for Coy exercises and activities to include writing orders, instructions, and travel plans;
- Maintain the JCR Coy Annual Budget and liaise with the Snr FSA on all Coy related financial matters;
- Review and sign sect 34 on Bulk Claims and Individual Travel Claim;
- Initiate and review all administration from the Coy to the OR and vice versa including enrollments, releases, loss damage claims and maintaining the Admin Tracker;
- Liaise and coordinate with the QM for logistical entitlements, procurements, and contracts to support Coy deployments;
- Supervise the CQ, Coy HRA and FSA in daily assignments;
- Be prepared to deploy in support of mandated training;
- Attend Ops Coords and other meetings to represent and deconflict Coy interests; and
- Act as the Coy Safety Supervisor and liaise with the UGSO to ensure safety is considered in all aspects of planning and included in orders for exercises.

- Remarks: A. This is a permanent Cl B position with a continued engagement for a three year period. The applicant will be a member of the staff of 4 CRPG. Initially they will be in the job of JCR Coy 2IC, but can expect to be assigned to other tasks and potentially fill another role during their period of service.
B. As per ref B, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. Applicants must submit their supporting documents to the REO OPI no later than 2359hrs in their own time zone on the closing date
C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval.
