- Basic description of duties: ROLE SUMMARY
1. DCI staff officer with principal responsibility to prepare and coordinate the CA response to the Future Structure Plan (FSP) and Defence Planning Capability Survey (DPCS).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
2. What follows is a list of key tasks, duties and responsibilities associated with position 227896:
a. Lead and be prepared to assume ownership of all work involving long term personnel establishment. Make decisions at your level and engage DCI EI/DCI early on issues that exceed your ARAs.
b. Coordinate planning for Future Structure Plan - notably in pers establishments, support the drafting of MID/MIP/Annexes, and delivery of tasks as directed in CA Op Plan.
c. Be the CA HQ SME for FSP.
d. Solicit, collate and submit CA’s FSP returns.
e. Communicate effectively and respectfully with other Directorates/L1/L2 to ensure completeness and timely execution of staff work
f. Maintain awareness of Directorate Land Requirements (DLR) projects and delivery timeline in order to ensure that the prioritization and creation of new structure are aligned with the fielding of new equipment.
g. Maintain awareness and understanding of strategic situations, issues, initiatives, imperatives, etc., and how they may affect your directorate's / CA activities.
h. With limited resources (staff capacity), prioritize and phase activities and communicate with higher. Organizational agility to build capacity and reorganize as required.
i. As required, assume the duties as Acting DCI EI.
j. Be knowledgeable of the NATO Defence Planning Process.
k. Coordinate the CA’s return for the DPCS.
l. The work involves regular access to classified information so you must maintain your Level II clearance and access to CSNI.
m. The work involves classified meeting that must be conduct in person therefore remote work will not be considered.
