Competency Remarks:
1. PRes QL6B/RQ MCpl Musician.
2. Must possess knowledge and expertise to design, deliver and adjudicate musician instrumental tests (all instruments for brass and reed and contemporary; general awareness of pipes and drums) and also music theory and aural skills tests.
3. Introduction to GBA+ [302800].
4. Introduction to Indigenous Cultures [122077].
5. Knowledge of general admin and staff procedures. Able to satisfactorily generate and process general administration matters and correspondence at the NCO level.
6. Previous experience in Training Establishments.
7. Previous experience instructing.
8. Previous experience in supervising instruction.
9. Knowledge of DAODs, CFITES, and other training-related orders and standards of practice.
10. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Monitor MASS and SharePoint.
11. Must have requisite military music experience to be able to design and develop musician training.
12. Must be highly organized, self-sufficient and able to coordinate multiple tasks, as well as work with a team of instructors.

- Basic description of duties: a. Manage and maintain Musician Training Plans (TPs), to include recommending changes, liaising with staff, and processing required administration, to include:
Participating in TP Review Boards; and
Participating in TP Writing Boards.
b. Provide feedback to Qualification Standards (QSs) to include:
Participating in QS Review Boards; and
Participating in QS Writing Boards.
c. Responsible for training compliance with training documentation.
d. Responsible for Quality Control of instructors, to include:
Assisting with Lesson Plan and Master Lesson Plan Development;
Assisting with training modernization as required; and
Developing/Maintaining/Administering Performance Checks.
e. Guide and assist Music Training Centre instructors.
f. Make recommendations on administering Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) requests.
g. Liaise with many levels of the Music Branch, DHH-7 and CFLTC-Music Training Centre concerning Musician training.
h. Represent Standards during the levels of Progress Reviews.
i. Monitor the delivery of instruction for compliance with TPs and unit standing orders.
j. Monitor assessments to confirm alignment with TPs.
k. Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs)/End Course Critiques for assigned courses.
l. Work closely with Standards personnel and other Training Establishment (TE) staff to analyze internal and external training issues and recommending appropriate corrective measures.
m. Perform statistical and trend analyses to determine effectiveness of courses.
n. Actioning feedback for continuous improvement of the implementation of training and/or development of ideas for training/learning aids.
o. Conduct general administration in a manner consistent with TE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Formation Standing Orders (FSOs), to include recommending changes/improvements to administrative processes and procedures.
