RCSU PACIFIC has a Class B Permanent for a Sgt/Sgt MOS ID/Occupation 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 90000-ATR to commence on 01-MAY-2025 until 30-APR-2028.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force, Canadian Rangers.

      An applicant whose substantive rank is one rank lower and who is eligible for promotion may apply. Applicants whose substantive rank is higher may apply but, if selected, shall be required to relinquish their rank to that indicated for the position.
    2. MOS ID: 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 90000-ATR
      In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered for the position with the condition that the member completes a component transfer to COATS. Limited options for a member to remain in the Primary Reserve Force may be possible.

    G. Experience in handling aircraft fluids;
    H. Experience in HAZMAT packaging and preparation; and I. Capable of obtaining a DND 404 with the following qualifications F4, B1, B11, and T3.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Materiel Management Technician – Air Ops (MMT – Air Ops) is responsible to the Deputy OC Air Ops, working in close collaboration with the Air Ops Engineering Officer (Air Ops Eng O) in all manner of aircraft parts supply duties for Air Ops and any other assigned duties. The MMT is responsible for monitoring inventory, ordering, tracking, and issuing aircraft parts. Duties include: - Manage all aviation products, including purchasing, warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock control, and disposal of obsolete stock and equipment; - Receive, handle, and prepare items for shipment; - Maintain the Aviation Maintenance System (AMS) with aviation products; - Keep records for controlled aviation products for audits and tracking; - Incorporate safety considerations into all job aspects and support the unit's safety program; - Integrate environmental practices into all job aspects and support the unit's environmental policy; - Promote a workplace free of harmful behavior and harassment, supporting the departmental harassment policy; - Uphold ethical behavior in all job aspects and support the department's ethics policy; - Lead assigned NCMs and civilian staff, managing resources efficiently and ethically; - Manage, track, and store aircraft spare parts inventories according to regulations and policies; - Maintain the aircraft parts inventory software system for accurate tracking and adequate inventory levels; - Procure aircraft parts as needed, following regulations and government procurement policies; - Maintain separate storage for unserviceable and quarantined parts according to standards and policies; - Monitor, measure, record, and track aircraft fuel inventory, recommending resupply as needed; - Perform quality control tests on aircraft fuel inventory; - Identify repair facilities and contractors for aircraft parts; - Package aircraft parts for shipping, ensuring safe handling of hazardous products; - Operate light vehicles and forklifts as required; - Tow glider trailers on highways and in urban areas, including disassembly, loading, and reassembly of gliders; - Ensure current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are provided for all hazardous products entering the workplace; and - Contribute to the Lessons Learned processes.

  9. Remarks: A. This is a permanent Class B position with initial continued engagement for a 3-year period IAW Ref A. Continued Class B service up to six years as per Ref A may be possible based upon authorization of the approval authority, acceptable performance and organizational requirements. B. Position is geo located in Comox BC. An alternate work arrangement will not be considered. C. As per ref C, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. D. Upon nomination by the mbrs OR, applicants will be provided with an application form to submit to the REO OPI no later than 2359hrs in their own time zone seven days after the REO closing date. The application form is designed to assist the applicant with concisely articulating how they have met the required experience and qualifications, and the secondary requirements of the REO. In addition to the application form, submissions shall include: 1) A Guardian MPRR (in place of cover letter and resume); and 2) No more than 4 documents that support their responses in the application form (e.g. performance evaluations, course reports, letters of recommendation, and awards). E. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval. F. In addition to the meeting the eligibility requirements at ref H, the following are required as conditions of this reserve service and must be obtained prior to and maintained during the period of service: 1) A valid Police Records Check (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
