  4. Basic description of duties: The 12 Wing Fire Fighter Training Coordinator is responsible for:
    A. Conduct/Facilitate FIRE FTR training and mentorship activities to enhance subordinates’ professional competencies and expertise, and effectively prepare members for future ranks;
    B. Action management policy concerning Fire Department Resources;
    C. Perform Incident Command functions and manage fire suppression and emergency response until relieved by a senior fire officer;
    D. Conduct / Supervise the inspection, testing and maintenance program of fixed extinguishing systems, portable fire extinguishing equipment, fire detection and alarms systems, water distribution systems, fire apparatus and associated response equipment;
    E. Submit monthly reports and returns as required by local SOPs;
    F. Carry out personnel management functions using Monitor Mass and PaCE Reporting;
    G. Operate as a Platoon Chief during daily operations;
    H. Perform functions of Incident Command; I. Conduct/supervise the inspection, testing and maintenance of firefighting components of fire apparatus (vehicles), portable fire equipment, tools, fixed fire extinguishing systems, fire detection systems, fire alarm systems, water distribution systems and Fire Department maintenance; J. Prepare and submit reports and returns concerning the Fire Department and its personnel; and K. Completing other duties as assigned by the Wing Fire Chief or their deputy.
