- RCSU CENTRAL has a Class B Permanent for a Cpl/Cpl MOS ID/Occupation 00359-01-COATS-GS-NCM, or 00164-01-COOK, or 90000-ATR to commence on 01-MAR-2025 until 29-FEB-2028.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Regular Force, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Cadet Org and Trg Service.

Applicants who are one rank lower may apply, and if successful, may remain under-ranked in the position, or may be promoted to while so employed (WSE) if the applicant has requisite time in rank and MOC qualification courses; however, please note that under current policy, COATS GS NCMs cannot be granted substantive promotions above their current substantive rank.
Applicants whose substantive rank is higher may apply but, if selected, will be required to voluntarily relinquish their rank (WSE) to that indicated for the position.

In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered and may be offered the position with the condition that the member completes component transfer to COATS, posting to the NDHQ PRL under the administration of DRSM or is attach posted to CJCR with concurrence from their home unit. The posting to the PRL must be approved by DRSM prior to commencement of the period of employment.

- Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
A. qualified QL 5 00164-01 cook;
B. experience in the operation and maintenance of a broad range of kitchen production equipment;
C. experience with performance monitoring of food contractors including oversight of quantity and quality within requisite health and safety standards and conditions of contracts;
D. ability to perform a cook function on a shift basis during cadet training in the period from Sep to Jun;
E. preference may be given to applicants with previous experience working within (or in direct support of) the cadet program;
F. HAZMAT handling training; and
G. standard first aid and CPR.
- Basic description of duties: The J4 Cook forms part of the Blackdown CTC food services section and assists the Food Services Supervisor in the efficient operation of the entire process of delivery of food from ordering, preparation, storage, cooking and serving during the corps/sqn training period (Sep - Jun) and during the summer training timeframe (Jun - Aug).

B. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This permanent position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified COATS or Primary Reserve non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 contract basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Annuitant employment periods shall not exceed three years in the position at which time the position must be posted for competition through REO;

1) A valid Police Records Check (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS),
