- Secondary requirements of position, as applic: - Experience in applying the CAF HR systems and policies in the PEOPLE domain is preferred.
- Experience as a staff officer in NDHQ, Formation HQ or Joint HQ is considered an asset.
- Experience in the use of Defence 365 is preferred.
- Basic description of duties: - Reflect the Expected Character and Ethos of the DG's Office. Establish a culture of respect and inclusiveness that values diversity.
- Manages the DG's schedule and ensures it is synchronized with HHQ and COS. Includes ensuring the DG receives all relevant products ahead of briefings/meetings for review and is prepared by their staff.
- Oversee the DG's correspondence. Non-routine files are relayed to the EA for a final review and triage before presentation to the D
G. BPT draft the DG's personal correspondence. Ensures all orders, directives or other correspondence signed by the DG are properly distributed internally and externally and recorded.
- Oversee the drafting of speech, presentations, and coordinate engagements. Forecast speech/briefing requirements. The EA will not be the primary staff officer to prepare the DG's presentations and speaking points but is responsible to review all such products for quality and content.
- Manage the Proactive Disclosure Process. The AA manages the proactive disclosure for the DG and on behalf of the E
A.
- Manage civilian and military staffing. Responsible for managing the AA, including hiring and performance assessment.
- Management of the Exec Suite. Responsible for the appropriate division of responsibilities within the Exec Suite to enable the DG.
- Ensure the DG's travels are properly coordinated. Overall OPI for all aspects of travel planning and coordination, though much of the execution falls to the DG and accompanying staff. Responsible to ensure the DG's travels are closed out administratively afterwards and will ensure that a trip report is written and distributed.
- Provide support to initiative; includes governance, planning cycles, performance management.
- Collate research and conduct analysis on various topics.
- Consult with internal (MPC L2s) and external stakeholders (L1s), as appropriate.
- Provide option space for senior leadership and enable their decision making.
- Manage, track and prepare staff products for senior leadership.
