A.Given the staff-oriented nature of this position, prospective applicants may be required to frequently plan and execute stakeholder engagement meetings, working groups and/or planning conferences; and

- Basic description of duties: GENERAL:
The role of the CASC - C4ISTAR team is to collaborate with Functional Centres of Excellence (the combat arms Corps/Branches, the Canadian Army Command and Staff College, and the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics) in order to enable the training and development of C4ISTAR capabilities, including TTPs/doctrine, and assist within the C4ISTAR equipment implementation process for Army operations level 7 and below. This includes the integration/development of simulation tools with various C4ISTAR capabilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES
A. Develop expertise of existing/newly fielded C4ISTAR capabilities and simulation tools in the CA;
B. Assist in the integration of C4ISTAR capabilities with appropriate simulation tools to enable training development and delivery;
C. Assist in the coordination of C4ISTAR training/TTP/doctrine development with the Functional Centres of Excellence;
D. Assist in the coordination of C4ISTAR capability development with organizations such as ADM(Mat), DDACSI, DLFD, DLR, DLCSPM, CALWC, DRDC and CATEU;
E. Assist with the review and feedback on external documentation, including Professional Development Needs Analysis (PDNA), Master Implementation Directive (MID), Statement or Requirements (SOR), Statement of Capability Deficiency (SOCD), Capability Development Record (CDR), Initial Trial Request (ITR), Unsatisfactory Condition Report (UCR);
F. Participate in capability/force development working groups;
G. Act as a point of contact for project directors, project managers, research leads, section heads, and trial officers;
H. Maintain close liaison with the research, trials and procurement communities to ensure that responsive feedback and/or assistance is provided;
I. Assist capability development organizations in providing the functional user perspective on C4ISTAR development issues;
J. Represent the CASC - C4ISTAR team at technical meetings and teleconferences;
K. Observe or assist in C4ISTAR related trials and tests; and
L. Brief on C4ISTAR related projects, equipment and technical aspects as required.
