Essential:
a. Experience in budget management including quarterly return process;
b. Proficiency with Defense Resource Information Management System (DRMIS), data analysis and reporting;
c. Proficiency with governmental financial policies, including ability to locate and interpret such policies and regulations;
d. Proficiency with MS Office suite software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook;
e. Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
f. Ability to synthesize vast quantity of information for higher CoC briefs.
Desirable:
a. Knowledge of civilian Salary Forcasting Tool (SFT) and civilian staffing process;
b. Knowledge of Revised Pay System for the Reserves (RPSR) and interface with DRMIS;
c. Knowledge of Business Planning Cycle; and
d. Experience working at a Bde or higher HQ.

- Basic description of duties: The budget analyst (Sgt) position is part of the Base Comptroller Section and is responsible for the technical aspects of financial management, including data entry, reporting and advising on quality of financial transactions across the organization. Position reports to the Base Financial Management Officer. Primary duties are not limited to:
a. Review the L3 and subordinate L4's budgets;
b. Generate budget financial reports;
c. Analyze expenditure trends;
d. Assist in preparation of Quarterly Returns and financial briefs to higher CoC;
e. Assist with Fiscal Year End processes and Payable-at-Year-End (PAYE);
f. Investigate financial issues in DRMIS;
g. Verify that subordinate Units (L4s) are following the proper budgetary practices and provide training as required; and
h. Provide financial recommendations to the Financial Management Officer and the Comptroller.
