NATL CJCR Sp Gp HQ has a Class B Temporary for a Capt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 00232-13-CIC, or 00360-01-COATS-GS OFF to commence on 01-FEB-2025 until 31-JAN-2026.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Primary Reserve Force, Canadian Rangers, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

      Applicants whose substantive rank is one rank lower may apply. Applicants whose substantive rank is one rank higher may apply but, if selected shall be required to voluntarily relinquish their rank to that indicated for the position.

      In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered for the position with the condition that the member completes a component transfer to COATS. Limited options for a member to remain in the Primary Reserve Force may be possible.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    A. Staff experience working at NDHQ or a Fmn, Regional or Area HQ;
    B. Knowledge of and experience applying federal government and DND IM/IT policies;
    C. Familiarity with DND/CAF information security protocols and practices;
    D. Undergraduate degree in a related field or a combination of relevant postsecondary education, military and civilian qualifications, and relevant experience in similar roles;
    E. Change management training or experience;
    F. Training or experience using Power BI and Visio; and,
    G. Experience in the delivery of adult individual training and education (IT&E).
  4. Basic description of duties: The Information Management Officer (IMO) is responsible for reviewing and analyzing the school's business processes to determine and implement the best methods available to communicate with stakeholders, manage data, automate processes, and educate users on these methods. - Data and Analytics Support: - Aid the school in harnessing data and analytics for informed decision making and reporting; and - Facilitate access to data sources and analytical tools. - Business Process improvement: - Support the enhancement of school processes through digital solutions; - Serve as a change agent for digital transformation; and, - Advocate for the adoption of innovative digital solutions. - Design and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the school; - Manage the day-to-day aspects of Information Management for the school; - Manage the Student and Staff facing SharePoint sites; - Manage Teams and Channels as they relate to course delivery; - Planning, creating, and managing communications systems, including distribution lists, group inboxes, common drives and other data transfer and sharing tools; - Archiving and retrieving electronic corporate records; - Manage on-boarding for all incoming staff as it relates to information management and access to systems; - Conduct timely briefings to Class A and B instructors and support staff on business processes, information management, and cybersecurity; - Educating personnel on storing, archiving, and retrieving data; - Provide input to revisions of business processes; and, - Act as the POC and system administrator for the Professional Development Training Management System (PDTMS) within Monitor Mass.

  9. Remarks: A. This is a temporary Cl B position with an initial engagement for one year. B. Position is located in Ottawa, ON. An alternate work arrangement may be considered in the event the qualified applicant can perform the work from a DND facility such as an RCSU or area office. Remote work from another location will not be considered. C. As per ref C, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. Applicants must submit their supporting documents to the REO OPI no later than 2359hrs in their own time zone on the closing date D. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval. E. Applicants must provide an application package describing specifically how the applicant satisfies each of the required experience and qualifications and secondary requirements. Only the information provided, along with the applicant's MPRR, will be used to determine the applicant's match to the required experience and qualifications and secondary requirements for the position, and their past performance and potential.
