Secondary requirements of position, as applic: a. technical/professional skills: 1) must have good computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, 2) good knowledge of administrative procedures, 3) knowledge of the Cadet and Junior Canadian Ranger Program is an asset, b. previous experience: 1) experience in the administration of P Res and Rangers components is an asset, 2) experience working with aboriginal communities is an asset, 3) recent and relevant experience with youth organizations, c. behavioral skills: 1) must be resourceful and demonstrate initiative and honesty, d. working conditions: 1) must be prepared to work in severe climatic conditions and in remote and isolated areas of Northern Quebec, 2) may work outside normal working hours, 3) could be deployed at very short notice to the JTF (East) area of responsibility, for an indefinite period.
  4. Basic description of duties: a. be responsible on behalf of the 2 CRPG Commanding Officer (CO) for planning and directing unit activities and formations. Acts as the primary liaison between 2 CRPG and the 2 CA Div G3/G5/G9, as well as external agencies (government, civilian or military) in the 2 CRPG AOR. He leads the efforts and priorities of the following cells: standards, PA and IM, operations, plans and transmission; b. be responsible for the discipline, dress and behavior of Comd Coy personnel; c. ensure unit cohesion is maintained through the development of a healthy and respectful attitude towards others within the Comd Coy, even under demanding circumstances; d. increase the capacity and readiness of Comd Coy and optimize management processes by making appropriate decisions; e. direct the drafting and/or review the preparation of all directives, orders, minutes and administrative channels; f. establish and maintain a network of contacts to facilitate or enhance unit cohesion and operational readiness; g. master knowledge in areas related to CR/JCR such as first aid; search and rescue; navigation; communication; and the firing program; h. coordinate with the CO to provide resources for Comd Coy directed activities; i. coordinate administrative procedures; j. ensure sound management of the resources provided to him/her in the performance of his/her duties; k. foster a climate in his/her organization where ethical behaviour, adherence to organizational values, mutual trust and respect for the dignity of others are continuously valued.

Statement on the Engagement of CFSA Part I Annuitants: The Management Framework issued at VCDS 5323-1 (DGRC) 6 March 2012, which remains in force at this time, affords that annuitant in receipt of pension benefits under the CFSA Part I who endeavor to undertake a period of Reserve Force service in fulfillment of a requirement anticipated to last longer than one year shall rejoin and recontribute to the CFSA Part I under the terms of "Option 2" at para 2.13 of CMP instr 20/04. This is the guiding principle on which an AFC decision was based and promulgated by the CDS at 5323-1 (D Res) 5 Mar 2012. Notwithstanding this guiding principle, certain circumstances may exist where an application may be made to VCDS requesting an exception which would permit engagement of a CFSA Part I annuitant under the terms of "Option 1" (maximum 330 days in any 365 day period). CFSA Part I annuitants wishing to apply for this position with an expectation of being approved for service under the terms of "Option 1" as detailed in Para 2.13 of CMP instr 20/04 will only be considered: · in cases where the position is currently vacant; · in the absence of currently serving Reserve Force members not in receipt of benefits under CFSA Part I who apply; · in the absence of currently serving Reserve Force members who are CFSA annuitants wishing to apply under the terms of "Option 2" who apply; · where a reasonable effort has been made to fill the position using non-annuitants or annuitants under the terms
