RCSU PACIFIC has a Class B Temporary for a Sgt/Sgt MOS ID/Occupation 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 90000-ATR to commence on 16-JAN-2025 until 30-SEP-2026.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force, Canadian Rangers.

    1. Rank: Sgt/Sgt
      An applicant whose substantive rank is one rank lower and who is eligible for promotion may apply. Applicants whose substantive rank is higher may apply but, if selected, may be required to relinquish their rank to that indicated for the position.
    2. MOS ID: 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 90000-ATR
      In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered for the position with the condition that the member completes a component transfer to COATS. Limited options for a member to remain in the Primary Reserve Force may be possible.

    A. Prior experience working in support of the CCO; and
    B. Working knowledge of DRIMIS, AIMS and Logistik Unicorp.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Material Control Clerk is responsible to the Material Control Supervisor and maintains administrative files, manages correspondence and provides administrative support to Material Control staff. They assist in the provision of logistical support to all cadet and COATS training in the region. Primary Duties: - Acquiring a full and complete understanding of the supply requirements to support the cadet and COATS training programs. - Receiving, issuing, delivering, recovering, maintaining, conditioning, and storing materiel. - Assisting the Material Control Supervisor in ensuring assigned Supply Customer Accounts are managed and maintained in accordance with Departmental orders, policies, and procedures. - Ensuring that all unserviceable materiel is replaced or repaired. - Evaluating all demands for materiel and taking the necessary action for procurement as required. - Managing cadet corps clothing accounts with Logistik Unicorp. - Verifying weapon and ammunitions inventories held on Supply Customer Accounts. - Assisting in developing and monitoring material life cycle management plans. - Assisting with developing SCDs, IPRLs, UCRs, and Equipment Procurement Priority Lists. - Assisting with managing assigned budgets. - Ensuring goods and services are delivered in accordance with contracted terms and conditions. - Identifying and managing all regional materiel requirements. - Assisting with the establishment of procedural and functional processes to improve logistical support to all training programs. - Ensuring all allocated funds are expended in accordance with Departmental directives, policies and orders. - Producing supply reports, statistical returns and equipment reports as required. - Providing input into the RCSU Business Plan.

  9. Remarks: A. This is a temporary Cl B position with a continued engagement for up to a two year period with possible extension. B. Position is geo located in Victoria BC. An alternate work arrangement will not be considered. C. As per ref C, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass prior to the competition closing date. D. Upon nomination by the mbrs OR, applicants will be provided with an application form to submit to the REO OPI no later than 2359hrs in their own time zone seven days after the REO closing date. The application form is designed to assist the applicant with concisely articulating how they have met the required experience and qualifications, and the secondary requirements of the REO. In addition to the application form, submissions shall include: 1) A Guardian MPRR (in place of cover letter and resume); and 2) No more than 4 documents that support their responses in the application form (e.g. performance evaluations, course reports, letters of recommendation, and awards). E. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however, preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Extension to annuitant employment periods require additional approval. F. In addition to the meeting the eligibility requirements at ref H, the following are required as conditions of this reserve service and must be obtained prior to and maintained during the period of service: 1) A valid Police Records Check (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS); and 2) COATS members who are employed on Cl B service in excess of 180 days will be required to participate in the CAF FORCE program on an annual basis.
