  1. RCAF Academy has a Class B Permanent for a Sgt/Sgt MOS ID/Occupation 90000-ATR to commence on 06-JAN-2025 until 05-JAN-2028.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Regular Force, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force.

      Master Corporal eligible for immediate promotion to Sergeant will be considered, Master Corporal not eligible for promotion may also be considered and Warrant Officer willing to permanently relinquish their rank to Sergeant will be considered if no other suitable applicants apply.

  4. Basic description of duties: The RCAF Academy PLQ Instructor is the first level of supervision and is responsible for the safety, good discipline, morale and welfare of all candidates at the syndicate level, as well as the delivery of curriculum to the candidates. The PLQ Instructor provides advice and makes appropriate recommendations to the Flight WO on courses of action on all issues concerning the PLQ candidates and curriculum delivery. The RCAF Academy PLQ Instructor is responsible to the RCAF Academy Flight WO for: a. providing PLQ instruction; b. ensuring PLQ training is delivered IAW current QS/TP and RCAF Academy directives; c. providing feedback to students; d. managing, under the Flight WO's supervision, all disciplinary issues concerning the behavior and comportment of candidates; e. mentoring candidates; and f. advising Flt WOs regarding issues that could affect training. The PLQ Instructor is accountable to the RCAF Academy Flight WO for: a. safety; b. matters concerning candidates' dress, drill, discipline, and leadership at the syndicate level; c. engaging in Professional Development (PD); d. matters relating to the organization, and assisting the OIC with coordination of field exercises and graduation parades; e. matters relating to pre-course readiness state for new incoming candidates, as per Master Task List; f. delivery of curriculum in timely and expected manner; g. liaison with other PLQ Instructors throughout the course; h. taking part in Progress Review Boards involving RCAF Academy candidates; i. assisting in the organization and conduct of graduation parade practices, graduation parades, and training mess dinners in conjunction with the assigned OPI; j. preparing, reviewing, and delivery of different briefs; k. review of candidates' files, ensuring they are properly maintained at all times; l. maintaining weeklies and ensuring they are ready one day prior for the Flight WO to review; m. recording course marks and maintaining course reports at all times; n. being ready to fill in for other instructors; o. providing clear and concise direction to candidates, especially to assessment debriefs; p. demonstrating and upholding the expected standard of a CAF member; q. maintaining physical fitness standard with a healthy lifestyle; r. having an action plan that encompasses your needs while meeting the needs of the RCAF Academy; s. promoting and fostering an innovative environment; t. promoting stewardship of CAF ethos and bolstering a culture that reflects respect and dignity for all; u. following the Instructor Development Program (IDP) for instructors; and v. performing additional duties as required by the Co
