  4. Basic description of duties: This position exists to support SSO AOT with a number of key topics, to include training that is conducted outside of Alternate Service Delivery contracts. This would include, but be not limited to: CT-114 Tutor, CT-142 Dash 8 and/or CT-102 Grob SET functions, Operational Airworthiness for all 2 CAD fleets, oversight of CT-114, CT-142 Dash 8 and/or CT-102 Grob military operations and training. This position is primarily a staff/supervisory position and is responsible for the work completed by the Staff Officer Operational Airworthiness (SO OA), and Tutor, Dash 8 and/or Grob SET. This position requires an experienced pilot with in-depth understanding of aircraft systems. SO NCT, as part of the AOT team, is regarded as a subject matter expert (SME) who will be called upon to provide advice and staff effort in support of strategic, operational and tactical level headquarters objectives. Full Terms of Accountability (TOA) available upon request. SO NCT is responsible to SSO AOT to: a. oversee the employment of SO OA and Tutor SET posns; b. oversee the functions and activities of CT-142 SET wherever these activities are assigned (2 CAD or 402 Sqn); c. as part of the AOT SET team, provide SET oversight of the 3 CFFTS CT-102 Grob military QFIs and fleet operations; d. provide CT-114, CT-142 Dash 8 and/or CT-102 subject matter expertise to all 2 Cdn Air Div HQ Staff and RCAF external stakeholders as required; e. Oversee the planning and tasking of developmental, engineering and operational test and evaluation projects in support of operational requirements including the Request for Estimate (RFE), RFE Tasking, Estimate Acceptance, Project Tasking, Project Closure and Findings Implementation in accordance with Cdn Air Div Orders and the AFTEC directive; f. Oversee the coordination of the development of systems clearances including the generation of OACs and POACs for individual hardware components, weapons systems and software; g. staff Record of Airworthiness Risk Management (RARM) and Operational Risk Assessment Tool (ORAT) documents in consultation with the appropriate Operational and Technical Authorities; h. assist the Technical Airworthiness Authority in the review of Airframe Modification Approval Forms (AMAF) to determine when the OAA must be engaged for further review and clearance; i. OPI for the coordination/preparation of Annual Training Conference activities; and j. complete any other tasks as directed by SSO AOT.
