Secondary requirements of position, as applic: Desirable: Application of the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) or the Air Force Training and Education Management System (AFTEMS); Experience using the Defence Learning Network (DLN) in learner and one (1) other role; Knowledge of learning technologies; Familiarity with instructional design concepts;
  4. Basic description of duties: Learning Tech 2 assists SO RCAF LSC 3 to ensure that Training and Education technologies used in the RCAF meet the needs of all stakeholders. The incumbent will gather and organise the requirements of managers, administrators, content developers, teachers, and learners; recommend what tools they need to do their jobs effectively and contribute to a plan for augmenting or modifying the RCAF Individual Training and Education support infrastructure. Learning Tech is part of a network of stakeholders, subject matter experts, and colleagues from the Canadian Defence Academy and the other environments with the aim of creating a technology infrastructure that seamlessly supports all learning requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Technological Infrastructure Requirements a. propose appropriate changes to the DLN to support the evolving business requirements of RCAF Training; b. monitor / anticipate changes to DLN applications and take action to avoid / mitigate adverse impact on current content; c. identify requirements for an RCAF Learning Content Repository structure to ensure security, access and shareability; d. ensure that reports from the CAF Campus Enterprise Engine (CAF CEE) satisfy the information requirements of Qual Mgrs and Basic Training List Mgrs; Learner and TE Support Requirements e. monitor the technical support provided to DLN applications by external agencies to ensure that it meets the needs of the RCAF's learners and Training Establishments (TEs) and Operational Training Units (OTUs); f. assist TEs/OTUs and Learning Support Centres (LSCs) to provide academic and administrative support to learners; g. Provide input to business planning documents for the activities of LSCs; Administrative and Supervisory Functions h. Provide input to budget information for SO RCAF LSC 3; i. Supervise Posn 130753 WO LSC Proj Coord; and j. Carry out other duties as assigned.
