  1. RCSU ATLANTIC has a Class B Permanent for a Sgt/Sgt MOS ID/Occupation 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 00168-07-MAT MGT TECH to commence on 22-NOV-2024 until 21-NOV-2027.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

      An applicant whose substantive rank is one rank lower and who is eligible for promotion may apply. Applicants whose substantive rank is higher may apply but, if selected, shall be required to relinquish their rank to that indicated for the position.
    2. MOS ID: 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 00168-07-MAT MGT TECH
      In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered and may be offered the position with the condition that the member completes component transfer to COATS, posting to the NDHQ PRL under the administration of DRSM or is attach posted to CJCR with concurrence from their home unit. The posting to the PRL must be approved by DRSM prior to commencement of the period of employment.

      (1) Mat Mgt Tech with experience in aircraft parts supply, storage, procurement, and handling; (2) strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and management skills; (3) demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent rapport and working relationships at all levels; (4) current DND 404 with the ability to acquire A1, B1, B2, T3, forklift and hazmat ratings; (5) knowledge of acquisition card regulations, quotes, and PWGSC procurement regulations; (6) advanced knowledge of an automated office environment primarily utilizing MS Office; and

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic: a. standard first aid and CPR; b. HAZMAT/spill/general safety course; c. experience with, or in support of, the Canadian Cadet Organizations (CCO), including air cadet gliding program (ACGP), cadet training centres (CTC), glider pilot training course (GPTC), or power pilot training course (PPTC); and d. experience and effective in the use of commercially available maintenance software.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Air Supp Tech is responsible to the Region Cadet Engineering Officer for all supply matters in support of RCSU(A)s air operations. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
    A. prepare, plan and effect orders of procurement in an efficient and economical manner IAW Treasury Board regulations;
    B. prepare and maintain DND 638 temporary loan cards;
    C. maintain records of certification and traceability for aeronautical products and material;
    D. ensure that all aeronautical products and materials issued are properly identified;
    E. receive, preserve, stock and issue aeronautical products and materials with required documentation;
    F. ensure quarantine stores area is maintained to an acceptable standard and kept secured;
    G. maintain all equipment inventories and report any deficiencies;
    H. track and maintain maintenance budget expenditures and report discrepancies through DRMIS; I. access HMRA to maintain inventory records and update MSDS library; J. ensure the safe handling, storage and disposal of HAZMAT; K. assist with production of supply reports, statistics and equipment reports; L. implement good warehousing, housekeeping, and security techniques throughout the air operations section; M. make use of an automated office environment primarily utilizing Microsoft Office suite programs; N. coordinate with CAF supporting base sections, and liaise with aircraft repair facilities to schedule and monitor the issue and return of material tagged for repair; and O. perform other duties as assigned by the RC Air Ops O / AMEO.

  9. Remarks: A.This is a permanent Class B position with a continued engagement for a three year period IAW Ref A. B. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass a minimum of 48 hours prior to the competition closing date. Supporting documents must be received by the REO OPI no later than 2359 Pacific Daylight Time on the closing date. C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This permanent position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified COATS or Primary Reserve non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 contract basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Annuitant employment periods shall not exceed three years in the position at which time the position must be posted for competition through REO. D. Additionally, COATS members who are employed on Class B service in excess of 180 days will be required to participate in the CAF FORCE program on an annual basis IAW DAOD 5023-2. H.
