  1. 5 Cdn Div HQ has a Class B Permanent for a Capt/Capt MOS ID/Occupation 90024-GSO to commence on 01-OCT-2024 until 30-SEP-2027.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

      IAW ref A, applicants who are one rank lower or one rank higher may apply, however will only be considered in those exceptional circumstances where no other qualified candidate is available. If one rank higher is the only suitable applicant, mbr may be required to relinquish their rank for the period of employment.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    A. Candidate must be MOS qualified;
    B. Must have working experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PPT);
    C. Must be familiar with staff work, preferably in a HQ environment;
    D. Must be ready and able to work flexible hours when required;
    E. Knowledge of Claims X, RPSR, Monitor Mass and DRMIS is an asset;
    F. Extensive knowledge of admin policies;
    G. Experience with financial management; and
    H. Experience with management of civilian employees and policies.
  4. Basic description of duties:
    A. Provide daily supervision and coord the work of the Chief HRA, OR staff, QM and file manager;
    B. Evaluate and develop subordinates as per PaCE instructions;
    C. Act as staff officer to the CO;
    D. Ensure passage of information within the unit;
    E. Prepare and draft all correspondence for the CO;
    F. Coord unit formal and social events in conjunction with CO and SM;
    G. Prepare documentation in support of disciplinary proceedings when required;
    H. Manage assigned financial resources; I. Manage the 5 Cdn Div HQ duty officer roster and duty officer instructions; J. Prepare and distribute Routine Orders; K. Oversee and coord unit REO messages, prepare files for hiring boards, and prepare hiring letters; L. Coord actions related to harassment complaints; M. Maintain the org chart for the HQ; N. Act as chair of the unit fund committee; O. Act as the unit ethics coord; P. Act as the USO; Q. Manage 4th floor occupation and IT asset assignments; and R. Any other tasks as assigned by CO.
