Basic description of duties: The staff officer is employed and accountable to the Director Army Force Readiness, responsible and reporting to G34 section lead with the forecasting, allocation and in-year management of CA training resources, specifically munitions and combat rations. Duties and Tasks: - Act as the principle staff point of contact responsible for the forecasting, allocation and management of CA training combat rations; - Manage the development of L2 requirements forecasts for consolidation and submission as CA/L1 forecasted requirements in keeping with L0 direction; - Maintain record keeping systems for CA Training Ammunition and CA Cbt Rations; - Allocate approved quantities of combat rations and training ammunition to L2 organizations within the CA in order to permit availability for training by 1 April annually (initial allocation); - Adjust L2 allocations as necessary throughout the FY in keeping with prioritized CA training activity resourcing requirements; - Mitigate priority CA shortfalls in-year by assessing L2 solicited Declarations of Surplus/Shortfall in preparation for ACTC, and taking action to redistribute resources accordingly; - At times other than the above, mitigate priority CA shortfalls in-year through controlled distribution of the CA Reserve; - Seek L0 approval for release of additional allocation to the CA when the above are not feasible and where priority CA training needs dictate; - Design and maintain the suite of electronic reporting templates for L2 reporting purposes in order to inform periodic L1 report requirements throughout the annual planning cycle; - Using all forms of military writing, prepare comprehensive informal and official documentation as required for both internal analysis and higher review/signature; - Analyze and interpret CA, L2 or lower problem situations and resolve as required in keeping with CA training resource requirements; - Educate and provide guidance on a continual basis to L0, CA and L2 Trg Ammo and Combat Rations reps regarding their roles, responsibilities, functions and tasks within the construct of CA/CADTC, policies and procedures; - BPT attend and brief updates at CADTC SPT, ACTC, CAC and other CA venues as required/directed; - Represent the CA/CADTC at L0 events as required, to include DRT WGs, annual SJS Ammunition Requirements Working Groups (ARWGs), and any DAEME, ADM(Mat) J4 Ammo or ADM(Mat) D Foods Svcs planning conferences; - Contribute to the development of the Army Op Plan Ch3 submissions as required; - Maintain a SharePoint/ACIMS site; - Contribute to CADTC and CA policy, doctrine, D&G, CAO and other source document rewrites and updates as required; - Liaise with L0, CA and L2 staff as required to conduct daily duties; and - other duties as assigned by the G34.
