RCSU ATLANTIC has a Class B Temporary for a WO/WO MOS ID/Occupation 00359-01-COATS-GS NCM, or 90000-ATR to commence on 02-DEC-2024 until 30-SEP-2025.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Cadet Org and Trg Service, Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

      An applicant whose substantive rank is one rank lower and who is eligible for promotion may apply. Applicants whose substantive rank is higher may apply but, if selected, shall be required to relinquish their rank to that indicated for the position.

      In the absence of a qualified COATS member, a Primary Reserve Force member may be considered and may be offered the position with the condition that the member completes component transfer to COATS, posting to the NDHQ PRL under the administration of DRSM or is attach posted to CJCR with concurrence from their home unit. The posting to the PRL must be approved by DRSM prior to commencement of the period of employment.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic: 1. Experience in operations planning. 2. An interest in working with the cadet program.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Training Support Coordinator is responsible to the Area OC for the coordination of support to all assigned training program activities. Duties include: a. Coordinate the provision of service support for local, regional, national mandatory and complimentary cadet training activities. b. Ensure that the provision of support remains within approved activity budget and seek additional authorization when actual costs exceed approved activity allocation. c. Assist with the development of training plans, schedules, operations orders and completion of support requests for assigned Area training activities. d. Assist in the conduct/planning of Locally Directed Activities (LDA) Regionally Directed Activities (RDA) and Nationally Directed Activities (NDA) training activities as tasked. e. Assist and advise on matters related to dress, drill and ceremonial. f. Assist Zone Training Officers with visits and other ceremonial events when tasked. g. Liaise with Zone Training Officers on matters related to applicable zone corps and squadrons. h. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide support to cadet corps and squadrons. i. Mentor and coach senior cadets and junior officers in corps and squadrons activities. j. Assist during Staff Assistance Visits (SAV) to assess corps and squadron.

  9. Remarks: A. This is a temporary Class B position with a continued engagement for a one year period IAW Ref A. B. As per ref C, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass a minimum of 48 hours prior to the competition closing date. Supporting documents must be received by the REO OPI no later than 2359 Pacific standard-time on the closing date. C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This permanent position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified COATS or Primary Reserve non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 contract basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Annuitant employment periods shall not exceed three years in the position at which time the position must be posted for competition through REO. D. Applicants must provide a cover letter and resume describing in detail specifically how the applicant satisfies each of the required experience, quals and secondary requirements and including the following: 1) Security clearance expiry date; 2) Dates available; 3) Contact numbers at work and home; 4) Confirmation of whether or not member is in receipt of a pension under the CFSA attributable to Reg F svc; 5) Email contact information for two work references; Members current military supervisor may also be contacted. 6) Copy of their MPRR; 7) Supporting documentation pertinent to the position. E. In addition to the required cover letter and resume, applicants may choose to submit additional supporting documentation (e.g. performance evaluations, course reports, letters, and awards) for consideration. Information in those documents will be considered by the selection board and HQ CO/RCSU CO (employing authority) to determine the applicant's match to the required experience and qualifications and secondary requirements for the position, and their past performance and potential. The CAF is now emphasizing the importance of COATS members in maintaining a healthy lifestyle as a CAF member and role model for youth. It will be the responsibility of each member to maintain their personal health and physical fitness through an active and healthy lifestyle. Additionally, COATS members who are employed on Class B service in excess of 180 days will be required to participate in the CAF FORCE program on an annual basis IAW DAOD 5023-2. G. The following are required as conditions of this reserve service and must be obtained prior to the commencement of service: 1) A valid Police Records Check (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS); 2) A valid medical; and 3) Meet dental standards.
