  1. 1 Dent Unit has a Class B Permanent for a Sgt/Sgt MOS ID/Occupation 00334-01-MED TECH to commence on 01-SEP-2024 until 09-SEP-2025.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.
  2. Essential requirements are as fols:
    1. Rank: Sgt/Sgt
      MCpl/MS eligible for promotion and WOs willing to relinquish their rank for the duration of the contract may apply, however they will only be considered if no Sgt/PO2s is found. IAW QR&O 11.12 para 4. A Res F mbr who relinquishes their rank and reverts to a lower rank for the duration of the Class B employment, may be authorized (provided there are no substantive reasons to the contrary) to be promoted to the rank held prior to the relinquishment at the conclusion of the Class "B" service, provided they meet all requirements for promotion. MCpl/MS not eligible for promotion may also apply but will only be considered if no promotable MCpl/MS, substantive Sgt/PO2, or WO/PO1 willing to relinquish their rank is found suitable.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic: -Proficient and experienced user of HRMS 8.9 and 9.1, and Monitor MASS; -Provide basic guidance on military pay and claims; -Experience working in an Orderly Room a strong asset; -Proficient with policy research and interpretation in CF Mil Pers Instr, leave policy, QR&O, and CFAO; -Understanding of fundamentals of staff work; -Act as the unit ISSO and A/USS; -Act as an LRA; -Proficient and experienced user of Guardian medals application processing system (MAPS); -Proficient and experienced user of MS Office suite; -Ability to lead and supervise an orderly room; -Be a member within a team environment; -Work with minimal supervision; -Able to work on-site on a regular basis and able to work remotely if required; -Being confident and well-developed leadership skills; and -Self-motivated
  4. Basic description of duties:
    A. direct all of the activities of the 1 Dental Unit (Dent U) Orderly Room (OR);
    B. recommend improvements to unit administrative procedures;
    C. provide administrative support and SME advice to 1 Dent U HQ personnel and all 26 Dental Detachment Command;
    D. liaise between Canadian Forces Services Group Gatineau Ottawa's (CFSG (O-G)) Records Supervisor, Pay Supervisor and Release Supervisors and 1 Dent U HQ as well as direct support between Detachments (Dets) and their Base Orderly Room (BOR) Chief HRA;
    E. assist, help, and advise the Adjt and HQ personnel on administration policies and technical aspects of all Pers Admin;
    F. responsible for the collect, record and distribute incoming mail, and send the outgoing mail for 1 Dent U HQ including the timely management of the positional mailbox;
    G. responsible to ensure official communications between HQ and Dets via email are filed in the unit e-CR for retention and disposition IAW DSCDS and published Unit File Plan;
    H. responsible to complete the annual leave audit before year-end closure in Guardian for all HQ Pers and Dets; I. produce a Guardian's electronic Military Personal Record Resume (MPRR) for all 1 DU personnel; J. Maintain an accurate record of all unit Terms of Service (TOS). Coordinate, advise and follow up on TOS offers, elections for Compulsory Retirement Age (CRA) 60 and extended TOS between Dets and HQ; K. maintain an accurate record and timely follow up with Dets/URSs of all Pers Admin such as postings, promotions, CF Decorations (CD) medals; L. maintain accurate records of on the Chief Clerk's tracker; M. ensure completion of in/out-clearances for all incoming and outgoing 1 Dent U HQ personnel; N. maintain accurate record of all unit PARMON during the PAR season and ensure proper Dets and HQ reporting in Monitor Mass; O. maintain PKI user profiles, revise and create PKI cards for all 1 Dent Unit HQ pers; P. draft Attached Posting (Att-Post) messages for all unit personnel and distribute upon approval; and Q. other duties as assigned.
