  1. CFSCE has a Class B Permanent for a Sgt/Sgt MOS ID/Occupation 00394-01-IS TECH to commence on 26-AUG-2024 until 25-AUG-2027.Only personnel from the following Component/Sub-Component may apply for this position: Primary Reserve Force, Supplementary Reserve Force, Regular Force.

  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic: *Applicants who do not meet the language requirements of the position may be considered.   4. Basic description of duties: The Instr/Sect Comd is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and supervising all functions of the Regular Force and Reserve Force IS training. The Instr/Sect Comd is responsible to maintain currency in IS/Information Technology (IT) materials. Specific - The Instr/Sect Comd is responsible for the following activities: a. supervision of staff and students by setting the example and ensuring they maintain a high standard of dress and deportment; b. if provided, observe incremental staff in the performance of their duties through periodic monitoring, counselling and informal interviews; c. will be a resource manager by ensuring all equipment and stores are available for normal operation and report any deficiencies immediately through the chain-of-command; d. if provided, ensure all incremental staff are aware of, have access to and follow all applicable administrative orders and SOPs within CFSCE; e. if provided, ensure all staff, incremental staff and candidates are familiar with and abide by all standard safety policies; f. develop subordinates by providing constructive feedback with respect to their strengths and weaknesses, identify training requirements and offer opportunities to challenge and improve their leadership potential; g. encourage and develop staff and students through counselling and interviews. Evaluate performance, provide formal and informal feedback; h. inform supervisor of recommended training improvements through memos or verbal communication; i. work as a team player within the training cell, monitor and direct group moral in a positive direction; and j. other duties as required. The Instr/Sect Comd shall: a. have a good understanding of the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System and the Army Systems Approach to Training (ASAT); b. be very-well organized, possess superior written and verbal communication skills, be highly motivated and reliable, have considerable experience within the training system, demonstrate excellent dress and deportment, be self-directed, be able to work effectively with others, and have excellent problem solving and decision making skills; and c. at all times, promote teamwork, assess training and scheduling problems and offer solutions. They will be required to use the chain-of-command to recommend solutions for more serious training or administrative issues; conduct various PT and Drill periods; and use initiative by carrying out instructional duties with minimal direction.
