- Basic description of duties: The Mat Mgt Tech is responsible to the Warehouse Supervisor and maintains administrative files, manages correspondence and provides administrative support to Warehouse staff. They assist in the provision of logistical support to all cadet and COATS training in their assigned geographical area.
Duties include:
a. Acquiring a full and complete understanding of the supply requirements to support the cadet and COATS training programs.
b. Receiving, issuing, delivering, recovering, maintaining, conditioning, and storing materiel.
c. Assisting the Warehouse Supervisor in ensuring assigned Supply Customer Accounts are managed and maintained in accordance with Departmental orders, policies, and procedures.
d. Ensuring that all unserviceable materiel is replaced or repaired.
e. Evaluating all demands for materiel and taking the necessary action for procurement as required.
f. Managing cadet corps clothing accounts with Logistik Unicorp.
g. Verifying weapon and ammunitions inventories held on Supply Customer Accounts.
h. Assisting in developing and monitoring material life cycle management plans.
i. Assisting with developing SCDs, IPRLs, UCRs, and Equipment Procurement Priority Lists.
j. Assisting with managing assigned budgets.
k. Ensuring goods and services are delivered in accordance with contracted terms and conditions.
l. Identifying and managing all regional materiel requirements.
m. Assisting with the establishment of procedural and functional processes to improve logistical support to all training programs.
n. Ensuring all allocated funds are expended in accordance with Departmental directives, policies and orders.
o. Producing supply reports, statistical returns and equipment reports as required.

- Remarks: A. This is a permanent Class B position with a continued engagement for a three year period IAW Ref A.
B. As per ref C, the member is responsible for contacting their home unit OR to request nomination for the REO. The home unit OR will conduct a staff check to ensure the member does not have any outstanding administrative or disciplinary action pending on their file prior to nomination. Nominations must be made in Monitor Mass a minimum of 48 hours prior to the competition closing date. Supporting documents must be received by the REO OPI no later than 2359 Pacific standard-time on the closing date.
C. The employment of Regular Force annuitants is strictly controlled within the CAF and must be approved by the VCDS. This permanent position is advertised as either an Option 1 or Option 2 Reserve Employment Opportunity; however preference will be given to suitably qualified non-annuitant applicants. In the absence of a suitably qualified COATS or Primary Reserve non-annuitant member, Regular Force annuitants will be considered and may be offered the position on an Option 1 contract basis with employment limitations on the number of days employed annually. Annuitant employment periods shall not exceed three years in the position at which time the position must be posted for competition through REO.
D. Applicants must provide a cover letter and resume describing in detail specifically how the applicant satisfies each of the required experience, quals and secondary requirements and including the following:

E. F. The CAF is now emphasizing the importance of COATS members in maintaining a healthy lifestyle as a CAF member and role model for youth. It will be the responsibility of each member to maintain their personal health and physical fitness through an active and healthy lifestyle. Additionally, COATS members who are employed on Class B service in excess of 180 days will be required to participate in the CAF FORCE program on an annual basis IAW DAOD 5023-2.
G. The following are required as conditions of this reserve service and must be obtained prior to the commencement of service:
1) A valid Police Records Check (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS);
2) A valid medical; and
3) Meet dental standards.
