  3. Secondary requirements of position, as applic:
    A. completion of the Canadian Armed Forces Junior Officer Development (CAFJOD) Programme would be advantageous;
    B. completion of the Military Justice at the Unit Level Course, ALWC, would be advantageous;
    C. completion of a relevant CAF environmental junior officer staff course would be advantageous;
    D. previous experience working with Monitor MASS (especially PaCE and PAR), SharePoint, and/or GCdocs would be advantageous; and
    E. previous experience with directorate, unit, or subunit military management and administration would be advantageous.
  4. Basic description of duties: The Capt Adjt will be responsible to the Senior Director (Sr Dir) of the Directorate Information Management Security (DIM Secur) to ensure that the directorate's military personnel administration and management are compliant with all related policies, regulations, orders, and directives and meet the needs of military members, the directorate, and the directorate general (DG). The Capt Adjt will seek solutions to related issues, will mentor and set positive examples of professionalism and conduct for all junior officers of the directorate, and will provide administrative and disciplinary advice and guidance to the Sr Dir specifically, and to directorate and DG senior staff members in general. Responsibilities include:
    A. be responsible for military personnel administration within DIM Secur, manage the Sr Dir's correspondence, and be a knowledgeable advisor to the Sr Dir on all policies, regulations, orders, and directives applicable to administration and management of military personnel;
    B. ensure that the following are properly administered, either separately (in accordance with the directorate's practices) or in accordance with higher-level direction, and advise senior directorate staff and administrative staff accordingly; o administrative and disciplinary actions and processes, o inter-office liaison on administrative matters, o liaison with health, welfare, and chaplaincy services, o harassment prevention and resolution and conflict management, o redress of grievance process, o promotions, postings, releases, and leaves, o personnel evaluation (Monitor MASS: PaCE and PAR). o administration and processes affecting military personnel readiness, o universality of service and related administrative reviews, o reserve employment opportunities (REO), o reserve transfers and assignments, o casualty management (CF 98, DND 663, etc), o reserve compensation (DND 2398, etc), o Return to Work Program, o honours and awards, o military writing and staff duties, o ethics plan, o safety plan, o secondary duties, o routine orders, and o historical reports.
    C. lead, supervise, and administer a small team of military and/or civilian administrative staff;
    D. coordinate and liaise with civilian human resources counterparts and NDHQ Orderly Room counterparts;
    E. maintain a local file plan for in-office administration and documentation of the directorate's military personnel;
    F. have a clear understanding of the organizational culture of NDHQ and the Chief Information Officer Group (CIO Gp), as well as the aims and future desired by the Sr Dir
    G. oversee dress, deportment, discipline, and professional development of the directorate's junior officers, in conjunction with the WO-level counterpart for non-commissioned members;
    H. ensure that discipline is maintained within the directorate's administrative staff, in that subordinates comply with applicable DND/CAF policies, regulations, orders, and directives; I. ensure that the directorate's administrative staff maintain high levels of cohesion, professionalism, capability, and readiness; J. recommend equitable administrative and/or disciplinary action to bring subordinates into compliance with performance and conduct expectations; K. ensure that administrative and disciplinary investigations are coordinated with the appropriate authorities in the chain of command and expert offices, and are conducted promptly, impartially, and in accordance with current laws and DND/CAF policies, regulations, orders, and directives; L. understudy and assist the Information Management Officer to fulfill the directorate's obligations to conduct ATIP information searches and to submit ATIP findings; M. ensure equitable participation of all military members in secondary duties and tasks; N. tailor leadership style judiciously to the situation, task, and/or individuals;
