  4. Basic description of duties: Basic description of duties: Provide advice to the Brigade Comd and Unit command teams on all matters related to public affairs that affect the Bde. The PAO is also expected to develop and maintain a professional rapport with local media outlets. Overall, a PAO must continue to perform effectively under intense or adverse conditions and is expected to evaluate a situation or problem effectively with the view to making timely decisions. Defined duties: a. Ensure a 24/7 presence and availability to media and public queries; b. Analyze and interpret daily media coverage in view of upcoming brigade activities; c. Write and issue media advisories, news releases and public service announcements supporting the different activities of the brigade; d. Filter journalists' questions and prepare questions and answers when required; e. Coordinate media interviews with 31 CBG personnel; f. Coordinate the media activities of 31 CBG; g. Assist CO, COS and UPARs in preparing PA plans; h. Maintain a strong liaison network with 4 CDN Div PAO and UPARs for technical networking on ongoing and upcoming PA activities which impact 31 CBG or one of its units; i. Coordinate public affairs matters during a serious incident; j. Set up and coordinate a community relations plan; k. Deploy with 31 CBG HQ during exercises and domestic or international operations; l. Conduct PA Awareness training for 31 CBG personnel and unit pers; m. Maintain IBTS and DAG requirements to be deployable on exercises and ops; n. Seek opportunities to further PA and CAF knowledge i.e. Maintain relationship with DPALC and PA branch in general; and o. Maintain effective and quality social media activity under CAF guidelines and assist units with the same.
